Use Remode in Grok

Remode is a fashion shopping assistant that works for the buyer. In Grok, it finds clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry and accessories at shops and second-hand marketplaces for your region, compares one product page across stores, and can keep watching a specific item for you. Colette knows what a piece is worth and when to buy it; Carrie finds the same piece second-hand, for less.

The Remode MCP server

Remode runs a hosted MCP server. Nothing to install, no API key:

Add Remode to Grok

  1. Go to grok.com/connectors.
  2. Click New Connector, then select Custom.
  3. Name it Remode and enter the MCP URL above. No sign-in is needed to start: searching works straight away.

Grok then discovers Remode's tools and uses them in your chats when you shop for fashion. On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin first has to provision the connector for the organization.

Grok Build

In Grok Build, add the MCP URL above as a remote (HTTP) MCP server. A Remode plugin with the same server and a skill that teaches Grok when and how to use it is public at github.com/remode-app/remode-grok-plugin.

Cursor and other MCP clients

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or the equivalent file of any MCP client that supports remote servers:

What you can ask

Photos: a photo you attach in a chat is not passed to Remode. Share a link or a public image, or describe the item; results from a description are similar items, not an identification. Photo search works fully in the Remode app.

Signing in for Hunts

Searching needs no account. The first time you ask Remode to start, show, change or stop a Hunt, Remode asks Grok to connect your Remode account. You sign in on Remode's own page and approve access to your Hunts. Your email and password go only to Remode.

Affiliate links

Remode does not buy anything for you; every link opens the shop or marketplace. Some store links are affiliate links that may earn Remode a commission. Remode does not rank a result higher because a store pays a commission.

Privacy

Remode receives only what Grok sends in a request: for example a link, an image URL, your search text, region, size and Hunt criteria. Remode does not request your chat history. Details are in the privacy policy.
