What has to be true before a result can be called exact

Exact is a stronger claim than it looks. Two listings can share a cut, a color, and a brand and still be different products: a later season's run with a shorter hem, a collaboration version with a changed pocket, a regional colorway sold under the same name. For Remode to label a result exact, the item it found has to be the same product as the one in your image, and Remode has to be confident about that, not merely close.

Confidence comes from matchable evidence: a visible logo or label, a distinctive piece of hardware, a print that aligns at the same seams, a retailer image that corresponds to the shot you uploaded. When part of that is missing, the honest answer is not exact. Remode then labels the result best visual match or similar and tells you so plainly. Getting an exact result when one is possible

1. Start from a sharp source. A retailer's product image or an unfiltered photo gives Remode more to work with than a screenshot of a screenshot.
2. On iPhone, screenshot the post, or pause a video on the frame where the garment is front-facing and flat, then screenshot that frame.

What changes with each label

An exact label moves the decision from identity to terms. The product is settled, so what remains is price, region, and, for a second-hand listing, condition and returns. A best visual match label means Remode found a listing that resembles your image closely but could not confirm it is the same product; the burden shifts to you, and the product page is where you carry it. Check the things a thumbnail hides: the fabric composition, the exact shade name, the placement of a logo or seam, whether the buttons and zips correspond. Many products come in several colors, and a listing that is the same product in a different color is exact for the product and wrong for you.

Habits that raise the odds of an exact label

• Crop to the piece before uploading when the garment is small in the frame; a jacket that fills the image gives Remode more of the seams and hardware it needs.
• Prefer a frame without motion blur and without a filter; color grading shifts the shade and can push a correct product down to best visual match.
• Search each piece separately, even when everything comes from the same brand, because an exact match is a claim about a single product.
• If the item has a readable label, logo, or engraved hardware, choose the frame where it is legible.
• When the exact result shows a different color from your image, look on the product page for the color you want before assuming it is gone.
• Save the exact result even if you buy it right away; a later price drop or restock alert is useful if you want another one or need an exchange.

Cases where exact is not on the table

Some pieces cannot produce an exact result no matter how good the image is. A custom-made garment, a vintage one-off, or an item from a small label without an online listing has no product page to match against. Heavy editing, tight crops, and images where the garment is folded or half-hidden strip out the details exact depends on. Very plain basics, a white tee or black leggings, can look identical across many brands, and Remode will not pick one of them and call it exact.
